Philosophy

At Back In the Frame Art Restoration, we use our 15 years of experience in art, antiques, photography, works on paper, mixed media, ceramics, and framing to bring your art back to life. We believe in operating with archival materials, UV-protected glass, and reversible varnishes whenever possible to protect art from atmospheric effects while mitigating any existing issues.

Our mission is to bring your art as close to pre-damaged condition as possible while ultimately, adding unique history and a story to works of art.

We are continuously updating our gallery with items that have been restored. Take a look around and feel free to contact us with any questions!

– The “Back In the Frame” Team –

Why Us?

  • Updated methods of restoration while constantly researching new and improved methods
  • Reversible patches, pigments and varnishes
  • UV-protecting varnish added to seal and protect paintings
  • Meticulous and precise retouching of damaged areas
  • Strong relationships with local conservators

Our Process

  • Inspection

Upon arrival at the facility, our staff will examine every incoming piece to determine the extent of the damage. Prior to performing any additional cleaning or recovery, Back in the Frame will provide a proposed treatment and total estimated cost of restoration.

  • Consultation

After assessing the condition, a custom restoration plan is created for each piece and written into an estimate. Each piece of art is treated and priced on services needed- not the value of the item.

  • Restoration

Prior to any restoration work, Back in the Frame conducts a chemical cleaning test and analysis. Every piece of art and collectibles that come through our doors receive a custom restoration plan according to medium type, age of the piece, as well as the extent and type of damage it has sustained.

Our Services

Paintings & Frame Repairs

Time isn’t always kind to paintings and their frames. Aged paintings collect airborne dirt, dust, and nicotine that can distort colors and textures of both the painting and frame itself.

Photographs

Back in the Frame handles all types of photographs aged and new damaged by fire, water, tears, as well as, cracked and faded photos.

Taxidermy

Soot and dust can ruin the aesthetic appeal of taxidermy. Back in the Frame is capable of deep cleaning mounts and pelts, as well as removing tough stains.

Statues & Ceramics

Accidents happen and most can be fixed. With proper knowledge and expertise, statues can be brought back to life.
